South Block Launches Nationwide Direct to Consumer Smoothie Bowl Kits with Washington Capitals Star
Tom Wilson

WASHINGTON, DC (June 2, 2021) – NHL Star Tom Wilson knows the importance of fueling up while on the go, and that is the premise that inspired Wilson to partner with a popular local juice and smoothie chain to launch ‘BOWL KITS by South Block,’ a nationwide smoothie delivery service from homegrown Virginia entrepreneur Amir Mostafavi.

“Finding the right way to eat well and fuel my body properly while on the go has always been a key part of my day-to-day” said Wilson, who is set to enter his 9th year as a Washington Capital and member of the D.C. community. “Living and playing in the Washington, D.C. area, I’ve been a fan of South Block for a long time. When they told me their plans to deliver smoothie bowls all over the country, I knew I wanted to be involved.”

BOWL KITS by South Block are pre-blended acai bowls shipped right to your door, to be thawed and enjoyed right out of the freezer. Bowls come with a packet of granola and a superfood topping like chia seeds. Bowl Kit customers are encouraged to create their own bowls with fruit, nut butters, and other healthy additions. Bowl Kits are available to order on www.bowlkits.com and are currently shipping to addresses in the contiguous United States.

“Building an amazing team has always been our priority at South Block and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Tom Wilson to launch South Block on the national stage,” said Amir Mostafavi, founder and CEO, South Block. “When we think of Crushing our national launch, who better to have on our team than Stanley Cup winner Tom Wilson. He’s an active member of our Northern Virginia community and together we share a vision to build stronger and healthier communities nationwide… one block at a time!”

Tom Wilson has experience partnering with and supporting successful local brands, including Bash Boxing. His hands-on support of BOWL KITS includes taste testing and working with the company’s leadership team to build a national brand from the ground up.

“This is a fun, exciting product that can actually help people make better choices about what they put in their bodies,” said Wilson. “I’ve been working with the Bowl Kits team, testing products and giving feedback, and I’m pumped that we’re ready to launch!”

A percentage of all Bowl Kits profits goes to support Fruitful Planet, a charity established to help get fruits and vegetables to underserved areas and food deserts. In addition, the company’s shipping materials are 100% curbside recyclable and the bowl pints have received Forest Stewardship Council Certification, highlighting the use of paperboard that comes from forests managed for the protection of wildlife habitat, maintenance of biodiversity, and other forest sustainability criteria.
